PHOTO: Paula West in Joe Henderson Lab

Singer Paula West is presently in the middle of a four-night run in Joe Henderson Lab at the SFJAZZ Center. Each night, West sings selections from June Christy's 1955 hit recording Something Cool, freshly arranged by pianist Adam Shulman. Rounding out West's quartet is versatile bassist Aaron Germain and swinging drummer Greg Wyser-Pratte. There are still a few seats left for tonight & Saturday! Below are a few photos of Ms. West in action last night.

Paula West's current residency kicks off two full weeks of Soulful Singers in Joe Henderson Lab. Next week, SFJAZZ Hotplate Series (every second Thursday) features rising singer Tiffany Austin, paying tribute to Hoagy Carmichael. Over the following three evenings, Pamela Rose & Wayne De La Cruz present their Hammond Organ Party (Friday), beloved Bay Area cabaret singer Wesla Whitfield performs with her quartet (Saturday), and outstanding vocalist Jackie Ryan closes out on Sunday with her quintet.
